Over the past 25 years, Manjit has been an active member of various committees, charities, and boards in Langley and the lower mainland. She has volunteered extensively with organizations like the Fraser River Funeral Home, Canadian Cancer Society, PICS, Meals on Wheels, Fort Langley Museum, Township of Langley Heritage, Burnaby Multicultural, and Rotary Club (Langley and Newton). Manjit received the Paul Harris Award twice from the Rotary Club Newton, was named Langley’s HD Stafford citizen of the year in 2021, and received the John and Muriel Aranson Award in 2022 from the Township of Langley. She’s a two-time recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Diamond and Platinum Awards.
Manjit currently serves as a board member for FRCCS (Fraser River Community Crematory Society), which governs FRFH (Fraser River Funeral Home). She has also served on the PICS Board for over 15 years and is currently on the foundation board, focusing on the Indo-Canadian senior community. She has also been a former board member of Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation. With a personal connection to the hospital, having had her children and grandchildren born there, she aspires to contribute to its growth, ensuring the best services and equipment for Langley residents. In 2017, she was honoured as a Woman of Excellence by WEM India.
